History of Photography in Iowa with Mary Bennett, State Historical Society of Iowa

In conjunction with the University of Iowa Department of History, the Old Capitol Museum will host a lecture by Mary Bennett (History MA ’85), Special Collections Coordinator at the State Historical Society of Iowa - Iowa City.  Bennett was recently selected as a College of Liberal Arts Alumni Fellow by the department. 

Her lecture will focus on the history of early photography in Iowa.  Bennett was a contributor to the current Old Capitol Museum exhibit, Faces of Iowa Through the Early Lens and also the author of the book An Iowa Album: A Photographic History, 1860-1920

The lecture is free and open to the public.
