On May 31, 1972 the Old Capitol was verified by the National Register of Historic Places. Join us just days before the 50th anniversary of this honor—175 years since the founding of our great university and 182 years since the cornerstone was first laid—for a very special Exhibition Spotlight: If Walls Could Talk. Let's examine our beloved Old Cap from every angle, Then & Now.

During this virtual webinar, we’ll travel back in time with Pentacrest Museums director Liz Crooks and local historian Tim Weitzel to recall Old Cap architectural history, the evolution of the building, and some fun stories you may have missed. Super-secret bunker and tunnels beneath Old Cap? The false dome? The full story behind the restoration? What was here before? Tune in to learn more and participate in the Q&A.

This program is in conjunction with our current exhibition, Then & Now: 175 Years on the Pentacrest, now open in the Hanson Gallery at the Old Capitol Museum. We'll use the Exhibition Spotlight series to explore different aspects of the exhibition throughout 2022.

Register for free to receive a link to attend.
